Principal's Desk

September 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!
I hope this message finds you well rested from an enjoyable summer.  We look forward to seeing our returning four-year-old students as well as the new students who will be joining us this year.  At GPPA 3, we like to think of our students as members of our preschool family, so WELCOME!

As you already know, we are still facing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and as such, our preschool policies and procedures have been modified to protect the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff.  Due to social distancing, we will be limiting any visitors to our building and will only allow entry "as needed".  All children and adults, whether they attend this building or are visiting, must wear a mask at all times. If you are in need of a mask when at the building, please let us know and we will provide you with one.

Student arrival and departure will take place outside, keeping in mind the weather. All students will line up behind their class cone in preparation for entering the building. On days with inclement weather, students will be allowed to enter the building at 8:05 as they arrive.  Staff members will escort the students directly to their classroom on these days, rather than lining up outside. All students will have their temperatures checked prior to being signed into school. Anyone with a fever over 100.4 or those with symptoms of COVID-19 will not be permitted to enter school.

Preschool families have access to Parent Portal, as another means of communication.  You have been supplied with login information and are encouraged to log into the portal regularly. Important updates, messages and documents are shared through the portal.  Additionally, most of the beginning of the year forms that must
completed can be found in portal.  Please be sure to carefully go through all documents to ensure your have completed each form.

Please pay close attention to the illness policy.  Again, with the pandemic still raging, we are doing everything we can to protect the health and safety of every member of our school community.  If you have any health related questions or concerns, please contact our school nurse, Ms. Aiello, at your convenience.

Finally, please know that we are here to help you in any way needed while you navigate the first few weeks of school, as well as living through the pandemic.  If you should need any assistance, big or small, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Once again, welcome to GPPA 3!  My faculty and staff are dedicated and looking forward to working with you as we prepare for a fun and exciting school year ahead.  On behalf of the entire GPPA 3 family, we wish you and your child a happy, healthy, productive school year!

All the best,
